Sunday afternoon it was beautiful out :bigpimp: Had the screen door open reading a nice book when I heard this sound that I've only heard online via Youtube.... (2 blocks away) It was a Porsche CGT no question. He was stopped at the red light @ 17th and 10th st. and I grabbed my trusty pos camera and quickly snapped some pictures of it. The fucking sound of the thing in person is one of the most amazing sounds (automobile wise) i've ever heard, bar the Ferrari Enzo. Also interesting to note the actual size of the car compared to what else is on the road.... Tiny little thing it is! :goflames:

I assume you are talking about the clutch. I can assume that, because the internet is full of misinformation regarding launching the car. It is only hard to drive to someone who reads BS reports on the internet.

Talk to someone who actually has driven or owns one and you get a much different story.

If you were referring to the number of crashes involving the CGT, the same happens with any high-power car. But let's not get into that. Beyond seems to be home to the best drivers in the world, based on the "lol, that guy should learn how to drive his supercar" comments.

Beautiful car!

hey, I am the best driver in the world...nobody knows it yet, and i don't feel the need to show off my mad skillz, but I am the best. mark my words.

I've driven one and I definately find it more difficult to drive smoothly. Of course I could get used to it, but I'm sure a lot of ppl that buy the car can't.

As for the # of accidents, look at how many high profile CGT crashes there are (hard to drive) vs how many SLR's have been crashed (easy to drive). Both are similiarly high powered cars and perform close at the track. Hell, even Paris Hilton can handle the SLR without crashing! ;)

Beautiful car!

I know a couple people who have owned or own Carrera GT. Seriously, it is a hard car to drive at the limit and Im not talking about the clutch.

I know everyone will say, ZOMG Top Gear not a good example.. :drama:

And this was on a track. Every supercar can be tough to drive, the CGT is no exception. Very nice car though, but a hard sell. The silver ones like this are sitting on showroom floors in the states just waiting for a home. Too bad so few were made in guards red.

That accident was due to the flagman at the track, it had nothing to do with clutch IIRC. He waved them onto the track right into the path of a Ferrari.

The tragic incident involving Ben had nothing to do with the Carrera GT and everything to do with an error made by a track official. Replace the CGT with any other car under the same circumstances and the results would have been similar.

Also, there are very few new cars still sitting. That was the story about a year ago, but dealers have done what they need to do to move the cars (ouch!). Porshce has also redistributed new cars to stronger markets. The handling of the car had nothing to do with the slow sales; that was caused by too many cars and too few buyers, both the number of CGTs and other supercars being released around the same time (Ferrari F430, Lambo Murci Roadster, G-Spyder, SLR, Ford GT, Enzo, Spyker, S7 all vying for the same bucks!). Prices have started to stabalize now.

nice spot l8braker, I was down the road that day, at 17th ave and college lane when I heard something badass coming.

I was having a bite to eat on the patio and he came growling by, EVERYONE stopped to watch.

Not far behind him was a red 360 spyder, some middle aged dude driving with a younger kid, maybe his son.

Haha. Funny this thread should come up again, I just took a peek outside and saw one 360 Modena (coupe) going eastbound 17th towards Melrose. Passing the 360 going westbound was another red modena spider.
