what do you guys think of the late 80's Mazda Mx6's.. r they good or bad cars? has anyone had any experiences with one??

Got to love when people talk about my Probe its a peice but a MX-6 is a good car. Weird considering they are 95% the same thing.
But I have a few buddies with old school 6's even one guy pushing 400 000km on stock everything but alternator. They have a decent aftermarket for the engine you just need to know where to look. The engine can put out 200whp and 300wtq with MINIMAL mods ( fuel, head gasket , chip ). The tranny can hold 480tq and the bottom end can take over 450hp good low revving high torque engine.
I prefer the probes looks over the 6's but its a good car non the less

is there anything you'd like to know in particular?

i have a Mazda MX6 GT Turbo 4WS

the stock F2T engine and turbo can handle boost up to 12psi without any mods whatsoever (except a boost controller)

with a chip, you can bypass the boost limiter and run 14psi safely on a well-maintained motor

with a fuel pump and injectors, you can run 16psi

after that, i'd look into actually upgrading the engine block, turbo, and intercooler...

there's a 1st gen MX6 running 18psi of boost here (www.adamturbo.freeservers.com)... he's running 211.2WHP 300WTQ right now...
