Can anyone help my partner has a 98 vauxhall calibra 8v and when she turns off the ignition the engine runs for a couple of seconds does anyone know what causes this and what can be done to remedy cheers john!!!

I dont know Vauxhalls very well, but it could be something as simple as a knock sensor failure, or even bad petrol.

I've had that on a couple old cars that I used to own, and for the most part, a good tune up would cure it.

Anyway, even though I don't have any experiences with Vauxhall's, for those that may be able to contribute, Vauxhall's are simply Chevy's here. Fyi for those with more knowledge than me.
