Shaw Digital connect fee

So I decided to get the digital box so I can see PPV, mainly UFC fights. Bought it and got it connected to see the the fight. When I got my bill, they charged me $98 for a connection fee. Is this correct? I haven't called them yet becuase I just wanted some feed back, cuz I'm not to impressed. I was thinking about threatening them by taking my business to Telus if they don't waive the fee. Just wanna know if anyone has done this and won before I try.

When I bought mine from Future Shop there was no connection fee and I don't recall the fee being waived for any reason either.

How did you get the box? They don't give them out for free :)

yeah, it's not the connect fee, it's the price of the box.

LOL. Yeah, there's no connection fee. I work for a company that sells shaw products and services.

I'll go with everyone here and say you were charged for the box and not the connection fee.

how do i get ufc in hd, i just bought the box and can't find it. i know bell has the ppv in hd does shaw???

i had the samething happen to me. I called them and what it was is the $98 i paid up front on the box, they put that towards the bill instead. So say your bill is $198 for cable and ppv, the take the $98 you pay and put that on the bill as a credit instead then charge you $98 for the box. It's all paperwork essentially but it is correct in the end. I called Shaw and that's what they told me and went over the bill with me.
