The cops are out....saw 5 cars in 5 mins...all on crowchild. Got myself the only allowable (the only one i want to get) ticket for the spring and summer.....i will be slowing down. Just a warning for all you out there :D

Ya crowchild is dangerous right now. It's easy to go 80 in that construction zone in crowfoot and I bet that is one nasty ticket. Saw four cars pulled over yesterday.

You know if they were actually DOING work while you're speeding through there I get that.. But what pisses me off is they will be giving out tickets Sunday morning and there isn't a construction worker in sight..

If you can pick a day not to speed, choose sunday. Almost all of my speeding tickets have been on Sundays.

Oddly enough 2/3 I've had were on a sunday, and the other was after work on a sunny weekday.

I used to book it down there all the time, never saw any cops, I'm way too cautious these days to do any hardcore speeding though. Good to know.

yeah saw for radars today, they're definetely out in full force.

but I still think they should go bust some crack whores, and not bug the working man/woman for going 10-15 over the limit.

There were two cyclist cops in Shawnessey today. Watch out if you plan on J-walking, littering or spitting in public!

And it's retarded tickets like this that get people pissed off at the cops. Honestly, what's the cop in the article thinking? He should be reprimanded for being such a useless tit.

Part of the reason is because of the condition of the road, not just the safety of the workers. Look at the potholes and dips in the road in construction zones! Not safe to be going too fast over some of them.


I just drove down Crowchild about 10 minutes ago, through the construction at Nosehill as I usually do, on my way home. I was doing 50 the entire way, and some punk in a truck went whipping past me doing probably about 80 or more... hit a dip in the road and swerved into the curb. Probably damaged his rim a bit!

I work nights and every night for over 2 weeks now I see the same white cargo van with blacked out windows and a camera on top sitting in the same place. It is parked at the Esso on Macleod Trail and Southland Drive. This is between 1am - 5am when I usually see it. Not sure if its there in the daytime too. So watch your speed if your heading past there.
