But ive never owned a car where i needed to switch rims from summer to winter until now. I just put all my summers back on, and im just wondering, do i need to get them balanced again?

And if so, where is the best place/quickest place that can do this?

Lastly, is it really bad to drive around w/ tires that arent balanced for like a week?

You only have to balance ur rims/tires once, unless u hit a curb or something.

You don't have to balance them unless you think they need balancing. If they've been stored in a safe place you'll be fine, but there are times when weights can fall off over the winter months but this is rare.

Noob.

^ the only stupid question I can think of is one you'd be asking a technician at Kal-tire for some stupid ignorant thing you've overlooked, only to ruin your tires just cause.

Everybody here is happy to help.

Stupid questions > Stupid mistakes.

yup, don't need to rebalance unless your missing weights or getting new tires...

Make sure you get a torque wrench. Your wheels must be torqued correctly, the cheapy $20 ones are accurate enough.

I have got a similar question. What's a decent place in Calgary around the NE area preferably that would do that for you? As in switch the tires and balance and everything And also, how much am I looking at?
Thanks

depends if they are heavy weights that were on there, sometimes small weights are not noticeable. Its is very noticeable if wheels are unbalanced in the front.

Torque specs are in your manual.

I go to Tirecraft for all my wheel needs.

CMS will mount and balance all 4 tires for 80 bucks. But if you are looking to take the tires off and then remount new ones, it will cost a little more.

Plus they have lots of experience mounting larger sized rims, so you can count on them not scratching your rims, unlike Canadian tire
