I've found that question almost never gets a proper response since most people that take a 'softmodded' hard drive out of their dead xboxes don't know that it's locked to THAT xbox.

I bought this off of another beyonder and it worked fine on my hard-modded xbox. Its got about 30 games, XBMC and some other stuff on it. I tried installing it on bball's xbox but no go, but he had no idea if his was soft or hard modded and I wasnt going to rip it apart to find out. We decided to sell the xbox and get a 360 so I didnt need it any longer.

Assuming its not been dropped or deep fried, its got LOTS of goodies on there and, of nothing else, at the end of the day would be a perfectly fine 120GB hdd.

As far as being locked or unlocked.... I have no idea, but it WAS plug and play in my xbox :dunno:
