Hey I currently have the AVG free edition virus scanner and every things been going good except for a few days ago every time I try and open up my documents or any files in the folder it brings me up with an error message saying that windows explorer needs to close and it closes the my documents folder and any others I have opened. Any idea what could be causing this and how to fix it.

Thanks

I run a virus scan daily and also update it daily and it had brought up nothing.

I ran spybot as well as the trial version of registry mechanic and it still did not solve the problem. This is really starting to become a pain in the ass for me. Any other ideas?

I'm a big fan of "tune up utilities 2006".. 07 is out now though, If you get the trial version it will atleast tell you if it finds the problem, pm me from there and I'll see if we can get it to do more for you.. wink wink.... :poosie:

try using the system restore to recover to a date that you know things were working fine.
