street and racing technology as stated above and the number refers to how many cylinders the engine has

ie SRT-10 Viper/Truck.. 10 cylinders

Hmmmm okay, sounded like crap.

Street "AND" Racing sounds way more convincing that "Street Racing"

yeah I knew about the cylinders but w/e Street and Racing Technology it is!

SRT-4 is a turbocharged sport compact car introduced by DaimlerChrysler's Street and Racing Technology (SRT) in-house tuner group (originally known as PVO for Performance Vehicle Operations) in 2003 and sold under the Dodge marque. SRT stands for "Street and Racing Technology", and the "4" in the SRT-4's name denotes the number of cylinders of the engine. ACR and Commemorative Edition models were later introduced as well. The SRT-4 was marketed towards the racing and muscle car crowd, as well as designed to attract younger buyers who had previously only considered owning Japanese sport compacts. It is currently the fastest stock mass production 4-cylinder vehicle in the world. Dodge Press Release

I heard it stood for Street/Race/Track

So R/T is "supposed" to be "Race/Track"

But yet again, that's just hearsay from a friend.

R/T is the performance moniker used on Dodge automobiles since the sixties (much like Chevrolet Super Sport). R/T stands for Road/Track (no "and"). R/T models come with R/T badging, better suspension, tires, brakes, and more power. Some models come with monotone paint and stripes, as well as aggressive body parts. The Chrysler SRT Division (Street and Racing Technology) has created Dodge vehicles that eclipse R/T performance, therefore the R/T designation doesn't carry the status it once did.

Aside from the fact that Street, Race, Track makes no fucking sense whatsoever, if you type Street and Racing Technology into Google, the first result is daimlerchrysler.ca.

Just so you knew.
