Like the title says, I'm looking at buying a Nokia N95. Just want some feedback from someone who already has one. Thanks

Got one today, I'll let you know what its like in a few days.
If its anything like my N73 it's going to be awesome.
Already got my microSD card ordered to see if I can get TomTom working on it. If so it's a winner.

Where could you buy one in Calgary? (i've tried Cellular Baby-no stock). Also puremobile.ca and they ship from Montreal.

yea, pretty much the same as the N73. I find it faster though.

Amazing phone though. Never used wifi on anything before and it works great. even got msn messenger on it and its wicked. i'll take some pictures tomorrow and probably put some up on here. got tomtom working and its flawless. im just gonna wait for my 2gb card so i can try the canada maps.

haven't tried the actual built in map and gps yet because apparently it takes about 10 minutes to lock the satellite when you first start it up. i'll do that tomorrow when im outside or something.

it looks nice and all.

I might be buying one later on once it gets way cheaper, as to me its cost:features is pretty high considering I wont be using most of it anyway.

it can take some good p&s pics, browse the internet, watch movies.
only complain for me so far is that its not qwerty pad.

I heard that the pictures is biased towards the purple spectrum.

But nevertheless, this is a kick ass phone!!! I think I will grab one when I am at TO later this summer.

i just think for the price u can get several different peripherals that do the job quite well
so definitley when the price comes down it'll b much more tempting, and by that time it'll have some bug fixes as well

I wanted a new phone, and considering I only buy a new phone like once every 1-2 yrs, I decided to spoil myself and pickup an N95. The 5mp camera is crazy, I love the big screen especially when browsing, which is pretty much like Shaw's High Speed Lite or equivalent. It pulls up porn sites/beyond.ca well:clap: The music player is excellent and the phone also has a 3-D sound effects feature which is amazing. The ONLY thing I really wish I could change is the fact that it only plays RP video files. If I was to ever sell this phone, it would be due to the fact that it's got way too many features for me and would probably be put to better use by someone else.....

you can put divx player on the phone mate.
I'll try to find the file, I had it on my N73 but couldn't browse the files to load it on.
Excellent phone, I'll keep it for years!
doubt it because thats what I said with my n73

I've decided I'm going to sell mine. I can't justify spending an extra £200 for this over my old N73.
The only main difference is that the N73 only has a 3.2MP camera (still enough) and it doesn't have WiFi, but that battery lasts WAY longer.
Oh and my phone doesn't have the integrated GPS... which is shit anyway.

TomTom works on the N73 so I'm good. Now Im going to flog it on Ebay..

you were able to download it form the Nokia hong kong site, but not anymore. well you can download it but you can't access msn mobile anymore anywhere except hong kong and china. they get it for free, we on the other hand will probably be charged for using it.
You'll have to use a third party programs, its ashamebecause that msn (while it workeD) was great.

10 minutes? Mine take 1 minute or 2 and I thought that's WAY too long.

Depends, if you take a risk on eBay it'll be about £350-£400.
Shops are ridiculous, think cheapest one i've seen is something like £450, but they go for about £500.

Funnily enough this weekend I was offered a brand new Nokia N95 (box still sealed) but it is barred/blocked (meaning it wont work in the UK but will in other countries). Guy wanted £250 which is dirt cheap.

If anyone is interested I will ship buy it for you and ship it myself, but remember I'm not guarantee it will work over there. I'm not up to date about the whole blocked/barred thing, last time I checked if it was blocked int he UK, means it wont work on any uk networks.

Check out Orangewave Wireless. They also carry unlocked world phones. I was in there the other day and the N95 was about $950 or something like that. Check it out.

By built in GPS does that mean it is like one of those standalone garmin type GPSs that just plug and play? Do you have to pay any data charges or subscribe to a data plan on Rogers to get the GPS to work?

/////AMG

Yes. You can download the maps for FREE from Nokia, and then this works with the built in GPS on the phone.
Everythign is free but if you want street-by-street directions (as in where the chick tells you where to go and the phone displays where to turn) you have to pay for this and other services. It's free in the sense that it's like google map and it'll show you the direction and write up.

I never played much with the GPS when I had the phone but I'm waiting (and many other people) for TomTom to someone get the integrated GPS to work with their TomTom Mobile software. You can still use their software but have to use an external GPS receiver.

About the data charges I'm sure you'd have to pay something if you plan on using the full GPS program, but I remember there bing an option to turn this off... like I said don't know too mcuh bout the gps crap on the phone because I didnt like it.
