View Full Version : Help finding the right vehicle

My mom lives out of Calgary a bit and commutes into the city. She's spending a fortune on gas because she drives an 02 Xtera. She's thinking about getting something else, but she's quite picky and wants something:
-With cargo space (for saddle & golden retriever)
-all wheel drive (she has to drive in from a far ways even through winter) *front wheel would be fine though I think
-gas efficient! (the reason for looking at another vehicle in the first place)
-under 25,000
Is there anything that would work? Suggestions? Or maybe an idea for a cheaper beater that could be driven in good weather to save money on gas?

does it have to be new or can it be used?
SUV or will a wagon work?
Perhaps Mazda 3 or Subaru Wagon?

A CRV isn't that much better on gas.

CRV, RAV-4, X-Trail, Impreza wagon would all be pretty decent choices.

If she's driving the supercharged Xterra then pretty much anything would be better on gas
