i dont even own a watch anymore, i just use the good old trusty cell phone for the time, and if i was to buy another watch it would be a nixon, just for the fact that they look good, arnt cheap walmart watches, but are still not so pricy that you wont wear it all the time, when i use to wear a watch i would wear it all the time and not have to worry about it getting fucked up from water, or anything i was doing.

and also nixon make 4 watches that range from 900-1700us and are pure sex looking

I like the movado line myself. The timeless style has lasted forever and their designs are still more or less the same as they were 50 or 100 years ago.

Does anyone recommend a good place to have a good watch sized? I once took one of my watches to a watch stop to resize and the guy started hitting at the pin with a hammer, and caused scratches on my band. I need someone who takes more care in their work.

If you were to equate them to cars what would it be?

A watch for the car guys.

This new addition to the Mille Miglia family is a limited edition of 1,000 pieces.

The case, in titanium, measures 44mm and is water resistant to 100 meters. The crystal is AR-coated sapphire as is the display back. The rubber strap is based on the tire pattern of a 1960’s Dunlop racing tire.

Movement is the automatic ETA A07.111 with 24 jewels, a power reserve of 46 hours and COSC-certification as a chronometer.

Citizen is more like a Subaru; desireable in spite of its overall styling, and with interesting performance.

Timex makes a damn fine utilitarian 'winter beater' digital for sports. When I am mountain biking or skiing, its always the Ironman on my wrist. I would say in that capacity its like rather like a year of car rather than a car. As a digital, its like, say, a 1992 Toyota Forerunner, a little dated, a little beat up, but lasts for miles. As a 'dress watch', a Timex is more like a 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass. Just say no.

I look at Rolex a bit like Rolls Royce: more bling than I care for, and yet still well made.

Breitling is still a pilot and engineer's watch. Although aligned with Bentley, it could be equated more to a Porsche 911.

Something for the bold.

Concord, a company of the Movado Group, unveiled at Basel its new C1 chronograph. It is housed in a steel and rubber case that measures 44mm X 16.7mm. An 18kt rose gold version with rubber is also available.

Movement is the automatic ETA Valgranges A07.211 with 25 jewels, beating at 28,800 bph and with a 48 hour power reserve. It is COSC-certified as a chronometer

The crystal is sapphire and it is water resistant to 200 meters.

Soon as I have the money to buy it, I will.

I really like the old school speedmaster.

If you are looking at the moon watch it actually has an plexiglass crystal not saphire, but that is one of the cool things about it, just like the original.

that 217 is FKIN GORGEOUS

I'd love to consider myself a watch enthusiast, but I've only been interested in high end timepieces for a few years, and can't quite justify the price tags at this point in my life.

The old man just picked himself up a nice Rolex Seadweller, and I've grown more fond of it after seeing it in person.

Immediately I love:

- speedmasters
- tag carrera
- breitling navitimer
- panerai 217

I will have to get confirmation on his part on which "mark" it is (I could be wrong on the date that he got it, as well)

From the pictures I can find on the net it looks like it might be a Mark IV

And yes, it's the watch that made me fall in love with the entire line, and watches in general.

Too bad it's been relegated to a box in his drawer since he got his Seadweller :( Maybe he'll hand it down to me one day if I'm lucky

That would be a great hand-me down!!!

I have to warn you to stay away from large watches. Once you wear a large timepiece you never go back. Panerai ruined me. I started off with a 005 and a 090, and I couldn't wear anything under a 42mm diameter anymore. It sucks cause I ended up selling a very nice vintage Submariner and Steve McQueen GMT because of it

The moon watch comes both ways.....with the acrylic crystal on the front and steel back...or....sapphire on both the front and back.

I have both versions and will be selling the "sapphire sandwich" soon.

I like my Esquires. Never had any problems and I like they're style.

After seeing this thread though I'm a fan of that black Tag watch though.

Something for you guys who like the gimmicky watches.

Nautica NMX-100 Titanium Chronograph

The new NMX-100 is the first in a line of Nautica’s brand new Spectra “Sea of Color” collection featuring a color coating technique borrowed from marine applications.

The titanium case will be offered initially in 8 glossy case colors: orange, green, blue, red, white, brown, black, and tan in addition to a brushed titanium finish. These colors will be applied to a unique asymmetrical case. The case, case vents, pushers, and crown details draw inspiration from vintage nautical weather-predicting instrumentation.

It features a Ronda Startech quartz caliber. The crystal is mineral with AR-coating and it is water resistant to 100 meters.

I dunno, I've been wearing this for almost a year now, it was my first watch worth more than a 100$ (I bought it for 250USD), and I still really like the style / features.

I find that none of the really expensive watches light up. I mean ya, I have a nice watch but I can't see shit in the nighttime. Yet my $30 Timex is no problem to see because it has Indiglo. That's always puzzled me, why don't they put a light on there somewhere?

Chances are that with a higher end watch you will not be out camping, sleeping, or otherwise be in dark situations for very long. Thats why some of the high end brands offer some collections or sporty versions with glow in the dark arms.

High end diver watches use super luminova on the hands and numbers. When charged it will be clearly visable for 12+ hours.
