I don't even know what to type, besides this car is fucking stupid fast. Roller coaster feel to the acceleration, where your guts are pushed against your back and then come out your mouth. Crushing torque.

Nice to see one that isn't silver.

I love the engineering that went into for an automatic "GT" type car, but those vents just doesn't work for me. Looks like it's tacked on and doesn't flow with the design.

The vents are all functional, it's used to cool the engine as well as the massive intercooling system.

I know that the SLR's vents are not purely cosmetic and are functional, but they could have integrated it better with the overall car, that's all. Similar to other cars like the Ferrari F430, Porsche Carrera GT, etc. Just personally not a fan of "tacked" on look of the hood vents and side vents, looks like a afterthough instead of an integral part of the design.

It's hard to compare a front engine car vs a rear/mid engine car, as cooling is completely different. The front engine'd Ferrari 599 for instance has NACA ducts on the hood and side vents up front, which looks totally out of place too.

As for the tacked on look, it's because Mercedes wanted styling cues from the old 300 SLR, that's why it looks outta place ;).

It growls. At full throttle its pretty damn loud inside. The supercharger whine is unreal too.
