Chrysler announced this week pricing and some updated stats for the '03 Viper. The 500 horsepower, 525 lb.-ft of torque, 505 cu. in. V-10 super car will carry a MSRP of $79,995 usd when it begins arriving in dealerships around the first of October, 2002. Complete with push button starter and dual side exit exhaust pipes, the SRT is said to run to 60 in under 4 seconds, have a top speed of ~190mph, and be able to hold 1.15g on the skidpad!

Neon update: Looks like the americans get to keep the neon name. Only Canada will recieve the SX 2.0 badging. Rumor has it that the next gen neon (SX 2.0 here) will be based on the Mitsubishi Colt due out this fall in Japan. There was a very small possibility that it would have been based on the lancer platform but this is prooving not to be the case. The new version of the neon will arrive sometime in 2004 as a 2005 model.

What problems are those? Sales are up, costs are down, and the viper was finished development a while back. It's currently in the final testing phases before it goes into steady production.
