~ 1600 cars showed up .. dropsicles from edmonton had some impressive entries .. lots of muscle ..

I saw that at autorama! I believe it's a miata with a mustang V* swap, with supercharger & nitrous. Sick!

that miata swap is a mustang cobra v8 with nitrious . it's apparently 1400 hp capable :P

Its was a kenne bell blown 5.0 with a 50 shot of juice. The engine was fully built as well (heads cam etc).
I'm guessing about mid 400rwhp and over 500rwtq on an md250 dyno.

That miata belongs to a buddy of mine in edmonton.Its a built 5.0 with nitrous and just recently a superchager(twin screw whipple)How fast is it?If pavment ever needed a reason to cry,this is it.Makes my turbo miata look like crap sandwich.The motor itself dyno'd @ 400 hp and 375 tq,with the 250 direct port,650hp and 575 tq.Havent seen it yet with the sc.Not sure why he strapped it on,it's not like it needs more power.When I bought my motor/tranny from him he took me for a rip.Holy mother of god!In 3rd gear doing 100 we were flying sideways down the road.He claimes he can beat anything he enncounters,and to be honest,I believe him.Long and short,it's fucking insane:nut:

The car was totally built by it's owner in is garage he is a machinest by trade.I've seen 4 other monster miatas two by monster motorsports.This one is the nicest install/best driving one I've been in.It's so clean you can eat off the motor.Owner is a old school hot rodder and is one of the most knowledgable car guys I've had the pleasure to meet.As far as the cost off building his pride and joy,I don't know all the work was done by himself but a total amount of his own time would be astounding to say the least.However when I was at his house picking up my motor/tranny I did ask him the cost on building the motor.Fully balanced,blueprinted,forged pistons,rods,yadayadayada you get the idea.Basicly the best of everything as far as 5.0 go no cost was spared in its construction.......$17000.00.A shitload I know,but when I was strapped in the passenger seat screaming like a little girl,I can say it's worth ever penny(Including the new underwear)

Sure its a nice car but im calling BS on this guy saying he can beat the pants off of anyone. Not once NEVER have i seen that car taken down the 1/4 mile, nore even WOT, and im sure its slower than most cars in the city. C'mon hes running around on 215/40/17's, do you honestly think he can actually hook all the power up..

Im running 295/50/15's on my truck(pretty dam wide) and about 450whp and it melts the tires, i can only wonder how he hooks up...

Considering the fact that it weighs in at around 2300lbs, I'm betting it wouldn't have much trouble beating a lot of things on the road with 450hp. Launching the car with that much power would be interesting, but with a good LSD decent 60' times wouldn't be far away. The miata has excellent weight transfer and very good rear suspension geometry for getting the power to the road.
