View Full Version : Logitech 5300 - Front Satellite "pops' when i turn up volume?

I just bought a new setup and used my sound audigy card/speakers from my old system. Everything worked fine in the other system, but now, when I turn the volume up or down, my front right speaker "pops' with every increase or decrease in volume.

I double checked all my connections and everything appears to be correct. After I have adjusted the volume, everything works just as it should, but it's very annoying to hear it "pop" every notch the volume changes.

Ideas on how to fix?

take it back, and see if it happens with the exchanged one.

No, I've had these speakers and sound card for over a year. Both were used with my other system with no problems at all, but since installing in my new computer, they've started doing this. It's only coming from the one satellite, which I can't figure out.

Is it popping when you adjust the volume from your computer, or when you turn the dial on control remote?

If it's when you physically adjust the volume, it might be because the l-pad is getting worn and is causing the pop. But from just one satellite, that confuzzles me. :dunno:

It's only when I turn the dial on the remote???

I'm assuming you have this (http://img.clubic.com/photo/00041111.jpg) set of speakers. The remote i was referring to is the volume/power control.

So if the cracking does only occur when adjusting the volume from the control pad, my best guess would be the worn out L-pad.

Yeah, that's the set I have. I don't think it would be worn out though... it's barely been used and coming from only 1 satellite?? To me it seems like I have something set wrong... even though I'm sure I don't.
