Last night I woke up twice to the sound of someone trying to open my front door.

1st time was around 10:30-10:45 PM and the next time was around 3:45 AM.

Just a heads up for you guys in the deep SW to keep your eyes open and your doors and windows locked.

Because they’re precision injection molded out of heavy-grade polypropylene, these bats just can’t be broken. There’s no need to worry about shards of wood flying in your face. No matter what you hit or how hard you swing them, they just won’t break.

i have my escrima sticks beside my bed now.

Does anyone know if you can buy standalone motion sensors that have a siren built into them? my house has a walk-out basement and when I'm in the bedroom 2 floors up i can't hear if someone's in the basement. it would be nice if i could set up some kind of system that would be able to wake me up should someone break into the basement.

Standalone Security System (http://www.albertarottweilers.com/index.htm)

EDIT: On a more serious note: I'd be interested if you do find anything.
I think I may get an actual security system put into the new house.

I'd buy a security system if it was my house. unfortunately i'm renting, so i need something non-permanent.

I found this on amazon.com. looks interesting.
