I thought it depends on how you classify the first car, IIRC the americans had the first mass produces gasoline car, some english bloke had a steam driven automobile (very first) and the germans had the first one off gas driven car.

Copyright in the USA used to be only 14 years, renewable once for 14 more years if the author was still alive. Every time a Disney work (Steamboat Willie, the original Mickey Mouse) comes up for expiry, the government passes a new law to extend copyright. It's now death of author + 70 years or for a corporation, 95 years.

Basically, all the Disney properties that they have been milking should have been public domain decades ago, so I have no sympathy when the Chinese copy them wholesale.

What? since when was Canada's Wonderland supposed to be a copy of Disney anything? Even if it was, it would only be comparable to Disneyland, Disney World is a collection of theme parks, water parks etc. not just one theme park.
