Can anyone tell me which processor would be better / faster / more reliable, and possibly the differences between the two? I am ignorant on the issue, all I see is the GHz rating, however the one that appears faster to me is the cheaper alternative.

Thanks in advance.

Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E4300 (1.8GHz, 800 FSB)

vs

Pentium® D Processor 915 with Dual Core Technology (2.8GHz, 800FSB)

Core 2 Duo > Pentium D. No comparison.

Keep this in mind - clock speed is not the definitive factor in processor power. The Pentium D is the old generation, and the Core is the new one.

Thread over.

Cored 2 Duo >>>>>>>>>>>> Pentium D

By far Core 2 Due even out does Core Duo, they are way out of each others leauges not even a fair comparison...
