depends on what kink of motor your lookin for. but i would suggest a b16a. it would be around 4000 for engine, tranny, ecu, hasport mounts, axles, and everything all said and done for you to drive.

Beware of the 4WS in the 88s. If you push it hard, the tail will give out when you least expect it to.

I don't know much about cars, what it is 4WS?

RX-7_TWINTURBO

four wheel steering

its common on 300zx's some 240sx's
and its also equipped on some older style preludes
i did'nt know it came on crx's though :dunno:

oops i forgot
the back wheels dont steer that much i think its only 1 Degree or less when moving fast
possibly more when going slow for parking purposes

This was intended to give better track performance (which it did), but after 1988, Honda tuned this out of the newer CRXs because they wanted the CRX to handle more like a conventional FWD. Passive 4WS wasn't practical for street use, because the tail would give out unexpectedly for a FWD.

if you are willing to do some work, there is a 89si for sale at 16ave auto sales. i saw it on autotrader. 233k, 2389$ needs front quarter panel though. you could just go down there and offer him 1500-1600$. i was considering it but, the engine would need to be swapped soon...

1989 HONDA CRX SI, this sporty 2 door, 5 spd, has only 233,000 kms, but needs some TLC, engine is excellent, interior excellent, car need quarter panel work, fixed up this car would be worth $5000 plus, phone us for more information, $2,389. Financing Available, trades welcome, Ph 16th Ave Auto & Truck Sales @ (403) 230-4446, 16th Ave & Edmonton Tr NE, next to the Mohawk, Calgary, AB.

[URL=http://www.globemegawheels.com/master/cgi-bin/mw_gensearchdetails.asp?id=383715] Thanks for the links. I went and checked out the first one tonite. It was the lamest excuse of a CRX ever..the guy told me there was no rust when there was obviously rust that had been painted over. And he parked close to the wall on one side to hide the cracking bondo on the quarter panel...everything was falling apart and it was basically a ghetto-rice mobile.

88 CRXs had Passive 4WS??? Can you quote the publication you read this from? I would LOVE to read that for myself.
As far as I know, only the Prelude SI's had it, and it was MECHANICAL 4WS, so it was crappy, yet still expensive to fix. At least the 300ZX TT and Stealth/3000GT had electronic 4WS, and they're REALLY expensive to fix! :nut:
