Question About Electric Power

I have an electric water pump for septic pumping whatever...

(im using it to pump water from a creek when im camping)

Now it says 4amps on the pump ...

I want to know what kinda inverter im going to need to run this thing off of my trooper??? 500watts?

So at 115 V, you need 4 A * 115 V = 460 W

The power requirement does not change with voltage...

However, you might want to use an inverter with extra capacity.

Now is that at peak power or continous power?

I want to beable to run this pump for a good hour.
