Have been thinking of getting a different car. Might stick with my 98 Outback, but wouldn't mind something with more performance.

Here is what I am considering:

- 07 Accord V6
- 07 Altima V6
- 04-05 TL USED
- 04-05 Legacy GT USED

I have driven the Legacy GT and TL. Drove my friends 4 cyc Accord. Have not been in the Altima. Also have done research by reading magazines etc. Leaning toward the new vehicles rather than something with 40,000 km and similar price.

Opinions? Definitely prefer manual transmission. I had a Camry rental car and it's quick and comfy, but a bit soft and bland inside.

Anyone know where I can find invoice prices for the Altima and Accord?

What about a used STI? or a g35? Or even a altima SE-R

the new lancer. it has awsome looks! or the mazda 3 gt (really nice interior)

performance wise for both these cars you're looking around the 150-160hp range.
and a price tag of about $26000.

im sure you can find a 04 STi for around $35000 w/ some pretty low km's.

mmm but then the TL hands down out of your list you got there.

LGT is definitely the performer in that group and has AWD. An excellent manumatic as well if you opt for the automatic.

I would add the G35 to your list, as well as possibly an eastern 2004 Audi S4 if your willing to look outside alberta.

Other options as well would be 2003ish BMW 330i, 2003 BMW 540i, Lexus GS 400/430, etc. etc.

Cool. The thing with leasing/financing is I can get 3.9% or lower on the Honda/Nissan. If I buy used, I would need to sell my stocks to get the $$.

I guess it's used, expensive cars vs new, not as expensive cars.
Hey Mitsu I still would like to take a spin in your car. Not sure when I will be in Calgary next.

Legacy GT or TL from the list you have. If you plan to stay up north Lgt might be handy for the roads up there.

LGT is an easy easy pick from that list.

I say go for the TL. I think it looks the best out of that bunch and also has an awesome interior

You should also consider the VW GTI.

You can get a 2004 S4 for around $35k?

Out of alberta, yes. Theres one in BC right now for $37k and their 35-37k out east. People complain about salt in toronto, its not an issue with a 3 yr old car, especially something like an audi who galvanizes all sides of the steel and is rust warrantied for 7 or 9 years or something like that. Thats my opinion anyways. Look around, they can be had for 35-38k. Also people undercoat their cars there.

Whatever you do, take advantage of the dollar and go south to buy your car.

At $1.08 it might be worth looking into!

You could easily import an 06 LGT for under $30,000. And Subaru's all meet the Canada's car regulations. I picked my wife up a Legacy from Salt Lake last year and saved about $6500 on what they were charging up here including my flight down there.

I've been looking at nearly the same cars.. I don't think the altima is in the same class, its just no up to spec quite yet.. I've also been looking around the usa, seems to be the 6ish k range you save off the top, but that goes down with the few things you have to take care of to get it here..

definetely TL ull hava a blast.

The TL is definitely nice. A used one with 50000km is still $34g ish though.

Thing with importing is you don't get the lower finance rate dealers are offering here. Add flights and cost of taking days off work.

Dexter let me know what you find.

I did see a LGT in the East that I like. Don't want to folk out the cash, or take a loan. The $ is currently invested in stocks and can be used elsewhere. If I can finance at 3.9% or less then it would be an enticing option. But to buy private and pull the $ out of other areas probably isn't the best choice.

So, either stay put, or finance a new vehicle. Can also go with good less expensive car.

Have you made your decision yet?

I'm in almost the exact same situation with same line up of cars.

Test drove the altima, and accord, but I'm leaning toward the altima.

Don't know if I should go cheaper, with with the sentra or imprezza, or more expensive with the g35, or go used...

Keep the post updated...

get a TSX!!

bigbadboss101
06-12-2007, 11:53 AM
Supe,

The TSX is nimble, good looking. 240 hp in that car would be awesome.

The TL and G35X are good options, more $ but good cars.

The Altima I don't like the styling of.

The V6 Accord is always a good choice. Not spectacular looking but nice.

Still have the S4 in my mind as an option.

Yeah you let me know what direction you go too.

How about the Volvo C30? It might not be everyone's cup of tea but it' definitely different than anything else. It's a two-door hatch though.
