I'm kind of stuck here. I have a client who wants to do their wedding photos in a location with a view of the mountains in the background. Now aside from actually driving out to the mountains, I dont know that I've ever taken enough notice to remember specific locations of the city that have a decent view of them and are pretty enough to be a photo location.

Just for basic info, they live in Woodbine, the wedding is at the zoo and the pictures are being done before the ceremony.

Any help or suggestions you could offer would be greatly appreciated!

If you take 16th west of sarcee for like 5 minutes theres the overpass by the gas station (about 5 minute drive), if my memory serves me right you can get some height (if you are on the overpass), a long stretch of road in the background, and then the mountains in clear view.

but im not 100% sure.

your other option is to draw mountains on paper and get some friends to hold it up in the background.

Bragg creek isn't really in town... though it IS awesome.

I seem to remember a decent view of the mountains on stoney trail, right in between Tuscany and... umm... scenic acres is it?? Anyhow, on the west side of the road there is quite a bit of elevation before it gets to the houses. You get a decent onobstructed view of the mountains from there. If you can manage to use your 70-200 to pull the mountains closer to the couple then it might work. If you're interested then take a drive over there and try it out beforehand. They won't be in focus but what can you do without actually going out there?

The Slopes or Artist View. It's at the end of 17th avenue just slightly past 69th street SW.
