My buddies b-day.
Me and my wife get to the club and told the doorman, we like hey we here for the b-day party and etc.
The door man says sorry we are filled to cap.
Im like what are we going to do man its me and my wife.
Hes like sorry no chances.. right behind us is some sorry to say White girls... he lets them in right away, my wife goes balistic on the guy shes like wtf, why did they get in and not us (shes not from a racist place like calgary) and the doorman goes sorry i let the ppl i want in and thats that, i ask for the managers name he says that if we dont leave he will call the cops and etc. so we left i was like fuck it.
txt's my buddy and i was like ur fuckin doorman asshole buddy there that had the guestlist didnt let us in .. and hes like sorry man.. and etc.. so my buddy tried to get the managers name and # and that didnt work either... so.....

This time my wife goes up and two bouncers at the door, one of them moves to the back and starts to move his hands and signals the other guy sayin that runners and etc, i heard this.
the buddy checkin the ids says ok to my wife and to me he says no runners... im freaking wearing lifestyle nikes .. all white with like 1 line of black and he says sorry no.. they not pumas so no go, i was like buddy wtf.. this is my wife u think im gonna let her go in without me.. and hes like if she wants she can stay.... but u cant no runner.. i then turn around and some super young teenage white boys walk rite up with super ugly runners and they let them in.. i was like WTF.. told my wife lets go and as we were leaving i was yelling out that the doormen are a bunch of dickless racist dick suckin assholes.....soo.....

is it me or is SOHO's the ONLY GOOD CLUB Left in the city that will let in a sikh who wears a turban and has on nice dress like lifestyle shoes?...

I swear i have NEVER EVER had a prob. with SOHO's... NEVER...

Years of filed complaints and even global news features did nothing to change the situation in calgary's clubs, but one guy calling the owner and bitching to him is going to do what exactly?

The fact that you said you would create your own club that discriminates against whites if you had the money, shows more than you feeling offended for being discriminated against, your just pissed off you couldnt get in. And honestly I'm brown myself, and when I go clubbing I adhere to the bullshit rules some bouners create, and guess what, I havent for the most part had a problem. I.e I'm not surprised at all you got singled out for having white shoes.

Gotta agree with this, I dont do the club thing but in Fernie whenever they were charging cover or there was a queue at a pub they waved us right through almost all of the time, fernie isnt exactly brown town and i'm sikh too...its not always racial man.

Yeah it sucks that bouncers go on powertrips, but you cant do anything about it. All you can do is try to go by their rules. They pick on your white shoes, wear black/dress shoes like the majority of the club.

Also when you as a turban wearing Sikh are denied entry, and your only response is to release a bunch of insults and swears, do you really think this is going to make the bouncers harder or easier on the next turban wearing Sikh that tries to enter?

I've been turned down at shitholes like Tequila before wearing clothes that would ward me with walking down the runway, for real. It doesn't really matter about what you wear, dress shoes versus sneakers, it's all about who the bouncer wants in.

My friend who is white (not that it matters) came in 30 seconds before me and I approach the door I see the stare of denial already. Same situation my girlfriend is all good to go and they look at my I.D. for 5 minutes and deny me entry saying I'm not old enough.

Not because I was wearing sneakers (cause I had on dress shoes, dress pants, hell even a nice sweater to boot, had my hair done, everything you think that would grant you entry to a shithole like tequila) and of course nope, denied, which was so weird considering it was dead inside (from what my friends told me)

The same things happen at Mynt and Whiskey, Cowboys and Roadhouse, it's all the same shit. Is it my age? My color? Who cares cause seriously you shouldn't. If you can't get in, don't bother trying to expore the situation, it's been done countless times before you.

If we were in a city like Toronto things like this would never happen.. it's because we have shitty clubs owned by shitty people with even shittier people watching the door.. though I do know some bouncers at some clubs who are super nice people.. the rest I can't say I would miss 'em if they weren't here anymore.

I mean talking about it on beyond won't really help you much. If you want to do something about it then take the necessary steps and make home videos. The more home videos the better and with that you can approach the media.

Even then, I'm sure nothing will come from it, this city will never change, that's why people think we're cowboys here.

There was a period of time not too long ago where places like the Palace was discriminating against Asians because of all the violence happening with Asian gangs at the time. I got turned down at the front door after all my friends, including my Wife, got in. I just went around to the back and got in that way.

I'll never forget the time me and my 5 buddies who were all asian + 1 white dude all dressed in black got into Cowboys VIP door :thumbsup:
