Wow, you think a truck driver would know the city well enough to know that there is no way in hell that the truck is going to make that.

Psh. About three times a year a semi driver gets stuck on the High Level Bridge here in E-Town. This is nothing compared to that!

That ain't the Calgary way.

If it don't involve burning fuel then it ain't worth doing.

Why didn't they just let the air out of the tires to get it out

Even if the tires were deflated it might not have helped. The body might be compressing the springs (air springs, likely, in this case) and when you release the air from the tires, all that will happen is the springs will decompress a bit.

Also the bigger concern is not just "how do we get this truck out of here as quickly as possible", but "if we get this truck out of here, is there enough damage to the bridge that it'll come down with it?". Sometimes that's an easy question to answer.. sometimes they have to call out an engineer on OT from his home in Okotoks or Sundre or whereever the heck the Calgary roads people live (cause it's sure not Calgary).

I've seen a U-haul on the lower deck, the top of the truck was dug nicely into the pipes and tresses, OPPS!:banghead:

I thought her angry south Carolina accent was hilarious.
