I bought a motorcycle in BC a few years ago and rode it home. The dealership did not charge me PST but did ask for a copy of my Alberta registration by fax once I got it home and inspected. They told me that they are supposed to charge it and then you can apply for a refund, but they were willing to just not charge me for it as long as they had proof the bike was taken outside of BC in case they got audited.

I bought my Cadillac in BC a couple months ago.
They said they needed a copy of a bill with my address to prove I am living in Alberta. I brought it with me and they didn't even ask for it. Didn't charge me PST. I am sure if you bring your license and other proof of residency in Alberta you will be fine and won't have to pay PST!
