Finding iPod owner

Is it possible to track an iPod owner down via the serial number through Apple? I've searched their website and nothing came up.

Yep, this morning I found a Nano near my apartment.... Still works and everything after being out in the rain.

The name in the ipod setting is Amithisste's Nano.

I don't think it's worth the effort. Apple probably wouldn't disclose that info publicly if it was actually registered. You can post a notice around the building as "Amithisste" doesn't seem to be a common name.

I am not sure, but if the person has the serial number registered or something, the I guess it's possible, if not, then I am not sure.

Just put up some postings around your apartment saying you found an iPod and if they want to claim it, to call you and describe it (ie: provide the name and list some of the songs on it).

Good idea with the posters.... I did a Google search of the name in the Settings and it came up with a Nexopia link.... I had someone e-mail him/her on it and hopefully they will respond.

I think having them verify the serial # from the box or whatever will be better than asking them which Timberlake songs they have on their pod :thumbsup:

Negative on the Facebook, i'll try and investigate more later tonight... Just placed an ad in FFWD's lost and found....

I've e-mailed my phone number for her or the parents to call me and so far nothing. It belongs to a young girl around 11-12 yrs old.

Rest assured that the ipod isn't going anywhere until the owner can confirm some details (serial # or describe some pictures that are stored on it)
