Ok so this is going to be a very wide range of cars that will fit so ill try to narrow it down a bit.

Budget is $12,000cad (thats the max i want to spend) Keep in mind, this budget depends on the actual KBB value of the car, as im taking out a loan. So a car that goes for $12,000 but the actual KBB value is $7000, wont work so well. I do have $3500 cash from my car i just sold, just keep that in mind while suggesting stuff. Ok onto the requirements:

Like i said it doesn't matter a whole lot (Bold are the things id prefer but non are deal breakers):

Domestic or import

FWD, RWD, AWD

4cyl, 6cyl, 8cyl

MPG: no lower than roughly 23 city (could be lower) *see insurance below*

(only MUST) Insurance: Must be good on insurance (im 19 years old), if its really extra special good then the MPG can be a little worse (more money left over per month that can be put towards gas)

looks sexy, good aftermarket support

not a honda (just personal preference, there a dime a dozen here, i want to be a little different)

Id rather NOT have a truck/suv, the gearing makes the MPG go way down from what ive seen.

Preformance:
Heres where my options vary:

Fast/fun to drive, should have fair MPG city, as thats where most of my driving will be.
or
Luxury, leather interior , sexy styling, better on MPG (will use for cruising)

S/C T/C N/A

Im not opposed to engine swaps, but factor that into the budget.

What ive thought about getting, and why i do/dont want to get them:

86-88 fiero GT:
Why:
do a 3800s/c swap, love the styling, very easily modded, EASY on insurance.
Why not:
Older cars, higher milage, low KBB value, so ill have to make up the difference.

98-00 F-body:
Why:
Sexy, v8 :D, MPG isn't terrible, moddable
Why not:
MPG (while not bad) Is lower than id like, Insurance isn't fantastic

98+ Nissan Maxima:
why: v6 for a little bit of power, nice styling, nice interiors (certain models)
why not: none yet, still researching them

So ya, i told you its quite wide open for options here lol. Lets see what you got.

toyota celica gt4/ all trac (1989-1993)

you could pick up a REALLY nice one for that price range

I don't think they are terrible on gas either, plus if you ever wanna make it quicker its a very good platform for mods.

Why? Cuz it's $3.00 and you can look at 100's of different choices. Mileage? Ride your bike or take the bus.

Why Not? KBB Value - the magazine costs like $0.50 cents to make.

I dont know if you would consider a talon, but i have my 1992 Eagle Talon AWD Turbo. Amazing on gas (when driven nicely) but still pulls hard when you want it to. Leather interior and low km's. 160,000 kms on chassis and 60,000 on engine (roughly).

lol hell if i didn't work full time i probably would. Problem is im one of 2 guys that do that shift and i cant take off time easily :P

Im kinda supprised theres not more response to this thread, its kinda wide open so i thought id get ideas from everyone (domestic lovers, import lovers w/e) Im kinda thinking bout getting the fiero again lol, found one for $900, motors on its last legs but the body is imac. would be a good one for engine swap :) Problem is its along ways away and towing might be costly :(

Wow $3.... thats kinda steep. the resale value is like $0.20 tops so i dunno. Maybe if i modded it so the pages opened up lambo style it might make it cooler. KBB of $0.50! thats BS, id have to recycle like 25 pop cans to make up the difference.
