My stock height car would likely get ran over in a head on collision.

That's sick.

Tires are fine, imo. What will another 2 inches really do for you? :dunno: They are already huuuuge!

Same here. I cringe every time I see a vehicle like this on public roads.

Looks great :)

If you don't mind me asking, since I know fuck all about trucks.. how much does something like that cost?

My buddies 05 - 2500 Silverado from a year or so ago was about $15,000. It was a 6 Inch lift, the best, including tires, labour and everything.

Most of the cost was the front end.

My KJ on the other hand, is $700 w/o Labour for a 2.5" (biggest). Sounds weak on paper, but for the vehicle is makes a big difference.

As for size on the road, I'd be more worried about a tractor-trailer. They are much taller, weigh about 100,000 pounds more and have the stopping distance of a freight train.

Makes a 10,000 pound dodge sound appealing.

PLEASE readjust your headlights or something, I can move my rear view mirror around but your light is still in my eye balls through my side view!

So, how much do the axles and the steering control arms move up when you do this?

black_radiation
06-16-2007, 11:29 AM
Thanks Guys, Im going to reposition the headlights for drivers, but im also adding 5 8" soltek HID offroad lights onto a custom baha bar w/ skidplate on the front, but those wont be used for road use... much unless someone really pisses me off. :D

and for the record i dont have a mullet... Im rockin the faux hawk for the time being.

toooo much lol, the lift by itself was 2700, then rims, install, i did cold air intake, exhaust, chip, 6.1L camshaft headers all that fun stuff so u can prolly figure out how much i spent :P

Add a leafs in the rear or blocks?

black_radiation
06-18-2007, 10:20 AM
I did Add a Leaf in the rear, im upgrading to the procomp MX-6 Monotube shocks though, I hear they are prettty sweet, and im going to do a double shock system all the way around (total of 8 shocks)

Im in the midst of fabbing up a baja bar / skid plate that is on an actuator so i can adjust the angle of the lights on the fly, it look similar to something like this... it will just be a bit more advanced

http://desertracingconcepts.net/DRC_TRUCK_015.jpg

also doing widened fiberglass front and rear fenders (basically a wide body kit for an offroad truck lol)

also I need a steering dampener as when i hit the calf rope bridge the other day I got the death wobble in my steering

www.desertracingconcepts.com is where im getting alot of shit from, they have some pretty bitchin products if i must say so myself, but unfortunately their race bar that they have, they havent gone into production with yet so thats why I decided to make my own

The tractor trailer has it's bumpers at the proper height, thus not ramping it right up onto the cabin of my vehicle.

I find with the newer trucks 6" lift doesn't make them look half as wild as the older generations with the same, it is high compared to the other but you see pics and they still don't look big..

like even 35" tires are BIG tires.. but on your truck they look "normal" haha

killer looking truck though :)

black_radiation
06-18-2007, 10:09 PM
thanks again, yeah it doest look HUGE like the previous generation, yet its the same height, but its cause the body is alot larger on mine so it looks like its not quite as high. but ill make it look bigger soon with the body lift and 37 x 14.50 " tires :D

nice lift - i agree that it doesnt look as extreme with the newer age of trucks, but it looks aggressive none the less, and i cant wait to see you construct that baja bar and get some crazy ass interogation lights!

"did you eat the last oreo?"
"mmm no i swear"
"bitch dont lie to me, i can smell chocolate on your breath!"
"naw man thats DOO DEE"

black_radiation
06-19-2007, 03:45 PM
yeah i figured that one out roberto :D eh runnin bear?

thanks dep, yeah they should be hella bright, especially when someone pisses me off on the road :D, they wouldn't be on in the city anyways unless I REALLY needed them or as i stated above, somebody seriously pissed me off. They will mainly be used for driving back country roads going out to my cabin or to the grandparents house (they have a huge ranch out by longview but its a pretty sketchy road goin out there at night) and for 4x4'n, or just lookin good lol

Looks like you have just enough lift for those tires. I can't stand the look of a massive gap between wheel and wheel well, who the hell wants a 10 foot tall truck anyways. How's the ride? Any rubbing?

black_radiation
10-03-2007, 09:55 AM
no rubbing, pretty smooth ride I must say but I ordered 4 FOX racing 2.5 rs shocks to make it a little better, some updates on the truck are the following

-Mopar 6.1l Cam
-Bushwacker pocket fender flares
-KC lightbar w/ 4 KC rally800 130w 8" offroad lights

there is a guy who might be buying my tires so i can get a set of 35 x 12.50 Mickey Thompson MTZ

also working on getting 4 pairs of HIDS

1 for driving lights,
1 for fogs
2 pairs for offroad lights

(8 lights in total)

im also going to be doing a Fabfours rear bumper and tiregate w/ spare tire :)

got to admit that looks really good:thumbsup:

lol same here. sometimes i feel like i should be driving a truck just to be safer. cause i mean the front bumper on some trucks are at just the right height to shear the roof off my 240. none the less i'm use to driving around with big trucks on the road. would be fun to have my own one day.

Hate to say it, but that cement truck that hit the Intrepid from behind, "ramped" into their cabin. It had legal height bumpers.

I agree with your point about the bumpers being lower, but if you get tattooed by a "bigrig" I'm not too sure it's going to make much of difference considering the weight behind those rigs.

Sorry for hijacking, and might I add, an awesome looking rig! My Ram is on a lease and I'm considering a mild lift myself when the lease is over.

where did you get the work done?

black_radiation

Modern motors did all my work, they do a good job, It's nice cause if I have even the slightest problem they dont even hesitate to take care of it ASAP i'll take some pics of it as it is now w/ the lights, the pocket flares and my audio system that I finished

Man, thats a nice looking truck, great job man. I'm not a dodge guy, but i've driven a 08 ram for a year now, and they are gnarly trucks.

black_radiation
01-01-2009, 11:57 PM
thanks guys :) I've got my 08 diesel too cept its pretty boring compared... bone stock cept for some smoked cab lights... all my money is getting put towards the ratrod so the newer trucks are gonna be left alone for a long time lol.
