Got a question for those of you who live in apartment buildings that DO NOT have built in AC.

What do you guys do in the summer months other than fans?

Is there some sort of AC unit that does not need to be put in the window? Like a stand alone unit for a bedroom?

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks.

have you looked into these portable AC units?

edit: looks like you still need to run pipes to the window and whatnot

Yeah .. those portable AIR COND unit work pretty good!

I had one for few yrs in my old house!!

Nicest thing is, you can move it around, to the room you need!

Do you need to run an exhaust out a window with these?

Was it fully mobile? Did it needed to have a pipe connected to the window or anything?

Any further information about what you had would be great!

Thanks.

yeah, i'm pretty sure all of them need some sort of exhaust pipe (otherwise you're have no net change in temp).

kind of like this:

Net room temperature will actually rise without external venting.
