Im looking into a career selling Heavy duty truck parts. I need to know of all the shops in Calgary, or slightly out of town that sell these parts.

Does anyone on this forum do this type of work, how does a typical day go, and what are the wages like?

Thanks.

What, you couldnt cut it being a mechanic?

Plan on being a shipper/receiver for a few years before they even consider you.

Wages, are ok, not nearly what a mechanic makes.

I dunno if being a parts guy is really a good career choice. There are other opportunities in the heavy duty field that you can actually build off of a lot more.

I do know that Finning Cat Truck shop might be hiring a new parts guy as he might be leaving to become manager of Branch 73

Never was a mechanic, still considering it.

Im also considering getting into the parts field, to gain expereince, because one day I would like to distribute parts independently.

Check out Traction Heavy Duty Parts in the SE, its a Napa owned business that I worked @ for a month as part of a job experience program.

But you'd start as a shipper receiver more then likely.
