I watched maybe five episodes of the first season, and I thought it was garbage. I couldn't follow it at all. I had no idea what they were saying half the time...

Excellent show with quality writing and acting. Better than 90% of the television shows on.

Took me a few episodes to really get into it but got really attached to the characters. IMO the series ended improperly but everything leading up to it was great.

The language, GTiR said, is a bit hard to understand at times. Kind of shakespearean, but any normal person should be able to pick it up quickly and after that you realize there are many great lines and speeches.

Hah1! I loved that show!! Made me laugh non stop. All the swearing and beatings. Things would seem okay, then some dude would just start snapping and knocking out bitches. It was great!

I just rewatched one of the episodes I found burned on CD lying around. Made me really angry they let this show kind of die off.

Al Swearengen is such a badass

there is talk of a 2 part movie. 3 hours or so in total to tie everything up.

You should check out the wire from hbo

Bump..

I just started watching this. I started with sopranos I guess, to entourage, that lead me to flight of the concords and now this from HBO. ha

I'm just finishing season 1.. Each episode plays into the next, so you have to follow them to know whats going on.. I really like the show,, I HATE that they killed Bill so early, they could have had a lot of good story lines with his character. :thumbsdow It's been killing a lot of my nights though, watching a few hrs a night.. haha

So I'm just finishing season 2, this show is starting to piss me off. It seems the only story line they know is to kill people off, characters that could have a good role in the show.

The show is based on histrical accounts, although with a lot of artistic discrection, but being a show based on history it is hard to keep characters alive that were actually killed in reality...

Don't get me wrong it's a good show, easy to get into after a couple ep's. But just the way, well the freq. they kill off good characters bugs me. Maybe it's because I watch 2-3 eps a night, it would be different if I only seen one a week.

It was a great show, it sucks that they never finished it. They promised to produce a couple of 2-hour final episodes, but I think they announced that just to placate their subscribers, thousands of whom threatened to cancel their HBO subscription if it wasn't dealt with.

Yes, plenty of characters are killed off, but since it's loosely based on actual events, they can't exactly keep them alive forever, since having Wild Bill live to a ripe old age would seem sort of silly...
