I believe it's low 80's. Somewhere between 81% and 85%.

That's for U of C though, it changes any where you go.

scroll down and you will see schulich school of engineering, last two years the lowest was 78.

it changes each year. For my year (2006) it started off at 80 or 82% and they lower the average until they fill up first year. Usually ends in high 70's. (my year ended at 78%)

I'm was wondering about this too. My friend was like, oh as long as you have Math 31, then it's okay if you're like at 78. I'm like, Wtf? You need Math 31 for engineering anyways. I guess 80 or higher keeps you safe, at least that's what my letter told me.

EDIT: Oh snap, I just read the website and realized your average was based on your OVERALL average on the five subjects? So if you got like 70 in Physics, but 98, 98, 95, 90, you would still be admitted?

thats right, its a combined average of all the courses you've taken. As long as all five courses average out to above the cut off then your fine.

Your friend is right, if you have math 31 than you get the regular cutoff which usually comes out to approx 78%, if you have not taken math31 you can still get into engineering but the average to get in is usually roughly 5% higher (i think it was 83% in 2006).
The reason is that you take math31 all over again in university with a course called amat217 so they are able to offer you that lee-way.
