I am about to buy an import and I am torn between the skyline and the 180sx. I no that there is more aftermarket support for the 180sx because some parts are transferable from the 240sx but the idea of having a skyline just sounds sweet. I think having a black skyline sitting in my driveway wound just be bad ass. So ya, vote on the poll.

There is no 'Neither' option

I saw a guy w/ a skyline last night and he had to get out and walk around his car to take a ticket for the carwash......nuff said.

Well the other thing is that his plate said "BOY RCR" and I thought wow - a self identified ricer! haha

I bought my prelude because I've always liked them... I was so happy with it until I noticed something... They're everywhere...
I saw 3 on my drive to work today... Now I don't want it anymore..

That might not happen to you.. (meaning you won't care, cause there is certainly no shortage 180's and skylines in calgary)

Buy what ever makes you happy... just be sure you're going to enjoy it.

i think ppl who start to get skylines and 180's now are just dumb
its a fad its gonna fade out...

ur gonna become another ricer ...
but if u like to be id'd as a ricer then thats ur choice.

180

Personally I've always liked those cars. Would have boughten a 240 a couple years ago if I could have found one wasn't a total beater and/or asking way too much.

The after market for the 180 is probably a lot better and cheaper than the Skyline.

180 with an engine swap.

I want a 180 more but its hard to find a cheap one that is in good condition. People are asking like 9500 for a 1989 that is pretty much stock. So I think that im going to follow the norm and just get a skyline because there are so many that are for sale right now. Who cares if every body has them:guns:

How much do you have to spend on a car? I am sure there are lots of other options out there other than a 180sx and a GTS..

a 180 is a great option. I Hate how every damn kid has a skyline now, both are GREAT cars. if i had my choice it would be a 180 with a RB25 motor. best of both worlds and maybe even Silvia front end it to make it a little more impressive. I like the Power a skyline has and mystique but i like the rareity of the 180sx (i guess)...

it comes down to:
do you want to be one off
do you want to go fast
do you want to tune
do you want to have somthing YOU like.

the one thing holding me back from even considering a Skyline is that SO many people have one, i see more skylines than Civic hatches... sais somthing about the city.

since when is a skyline or 180 considered a 'ricer'.
People who drive hondas with a fart can are ricers not jdm cars.

buy a LHD 200sx (aka s12) Its older but such a sweet ride and you can do almost any nissan engine swap into it

hey man i own both cars and they are both amazing and fun to drive, depending what you want to do with the car, if your building a full on drift car, go with the S13 chassis, skylines are a little more difficult to drift, if you want an all around drag, time attack, drift car, build a skyline. Its more expensive to build a skyline, but now parts are available everywhere, and endless. Goodluck with your decision:thumbsup:

Or how about this idea. A RHD 92 del sol. Not a lot of people have those and they are friggen amazing. And next spring or something I would slap an JRSC on it to make it go fast. I have owned 2 civics already and there awsome and I love Vtec!!!!!!!!!

i have had both i now own a skyline, it all depends on how much money you have. If you are gonna buy a skyline make sure you have some cash set aside for parts as they are way more expensive. Both are easy to find parts for, basically all depends on what look you are going for. if you want a 180sx id go for the 240 with the swap the rhd thing gets really annoying sometimes, plus it will be cheaper for parts and you can get a rebuilt engine so you have no worries.
