what do you think a 450hp full weight
91 hatchback stang with 373 gears
full weight and 8" wide street tires will run
in the 1/4 mile
i say 13s
my retard of a neighboor thinks he will run mid to high 11s
and bet me 500 bucks i can never beat him at the strip
in my gt4

hes one of the guys who say"you can never make a 4cyl have more power than my v8"

So if you think your balls are big enough, take his $500 challenge.

I'm betting on the Mustang. Judging by the tiny pic in your avatar, your Celica doesn't look like it's anything special. What have you done to it that warrants running your mouth to an owner of a 450hp Mustang?

uh dude, 450hp is 450hp... no matter what, and stangs do have balls man.. u must have some major work done to ur car to stand up to that lol

reason im "running my mouth"

he says i wont be able to keep up with him
after i get my gt35r 1600cc injectors forged pistons
f con vpro
and 75shot of spray
right now im running 18psi on the stock turbo
and fully gutted

turbo, injectors , and pistons are comin in 2 weeks
check after that ems

and i never said my car was pretty

AWD FTW!! take the challenge

06-30-2007, 05:14 PM
yes that is undynoed horsepower
basically a 302 stroked to a 347 and a very mild cam
its a fast car im not saying it isnt
at the moment he is quite a bit faster than me
but i just wanna shut him up
and show him it doesnt have to be a v8 to be fast
right now i havent had a chance to get to the track
cause everytime im ready and have time its getting canceled :banghead:
but as off the moment im thinkin mid to high 13's
im not dynoing it till all the new parts are on
as of the moment at 18psi i figure 250-270whp

after everything is said and done on race gas im hoping for 500+whp well see what happens

i just hope i can get it ready in time to kick his ass :D :burnout:

and i know i suck at naming threads

If I was at the track and I saw these two cars racing, I would rather see the gt4 win.

Underdog winning > stereotype drag car winning

well i figure he'll never get traction 8"wide low pro street tires
the springs were cut to lower it

It don't take much for a mustnag to break in to 12's.
If the best you're hoping for is low 13's, you need to something else to "shut him up".

May I suggest hooking up with his gf/wife??

everyone and their mom thinks their "setup" will get "XXX" time on the 1/4. but only a handful can actually back that up with a slip... just look at the "what are you hoping to run this year" thread...

Ask any racer, any real racer. It doesn't matter if you win by one bench or two; Bench racing is t3h gh3y.

i wonder what my stock pontiac grand prix gt can do

mid 16 perhaps ?

450hp stang can easily run 11's lol. A stock 302 with 3.73's, exhaust and slicks will do 13's allll day. Just be happy with what you have. Who cares what he says.

it doesnt do 11's the thing never gets traction
and one of the agreements was no slicks

and your telling me a stock 302 producing 225hp 300tq
with slicks and gears will push a 3000lbs car into the 13's
i highly doubt that

im not souly doing this cause of him i was gonna do everything
before hand kickin his ass will just be a bonus:D

and i honostly am starting to think he doesnt have 450hp

my friend runs 13s in the quarter, he has sr20det, t3/t4 hybrid pushing 17 psi, huge front mount, 550 cc injectors, and a wicked tune. I dont understand how a heavy mustang is gonna run 11 seconds with 450 hp.....what do the hatchback mustangs weigh...about 3500 lbs? There was a guy at race city in an LX running 13s with quite a bit of work under the head...claimed 365 hp?

i guess we'll find out in september. I think the gt4 could pack quite a punch if built correctly. A properly tuned 3sgte is nothing to fuck with.

I had a 93 LX 5.0, 5 speed all it had was gears(3.55) and long tube headers. It ran 14.3 on street tires. I didn't power shift it either. It also has 260K on it. This was in Calgary.

Soo, with slicks, sure 13s are very possible with a basicly stock car.

Throw a 347 with good parts and slicks, low 12 should be a walk in the park.

There is a reason why these cars are so popular, they go like stink.

Thats a lot to be putting into a GT four I must say. I am jealous. I wish I had that kind of coin to put into my 90 GT-Four.

Just do what "Cloak n' Dagger" did with their Alltrac.

http://www.turbo4wd.net/pat/

Most gorgeous Alltrac of all time. He is now shooting for 9 seconds.

I don't know, my 3400lb Supra with a full stereo ran 13s on street tires. That was more or less stock setup, just upped the boost from 10 to 15psi.
