Vehicle Break In

Hi Guys, I awoke today to having my truck broken into. The windshield has been smashed and the dash ripped apart. Blood everywhere. Attempted to punch the lock not successful.

I am looking for advice in dealing with repairs and insurance. Anyone who has dealth with such event please let me know what to look out for in terms of getting repairs, it is unfortuanate that Ill have a repaired vehicle as opposed to the prefect one i had before.

It is a 2003 F-350 Diesel and I am worried that the electonics etc... will not work as well as they once did.

So here is the best part, after failing to steal the truck that guy did a bunch of damage and then decided his work out was quite tiring. So he slept in my truck. I noticed the back window open and then saw my stuff scattered around on the ground, so i went to open the door to see the damage (thinking someone broke in took some stuff thats all), luckily my sister warned me not to open the door as the guy was asleep in the passenger seat.

Wait let me get this correctly.. The guy broke into your car tried to steal it, freaked out becuase he was unable to do so, broke a bunch of shit inside it, then deicded to take a nap in it?
No wonder the vast majority of people that commit crimes get busted.

precisely. I am so lucky becuase earlier that night I had just finsihed armouralling the interior and cleaning it, so I removed a bunch of stuff. I had just returned from camping, and so I had my chequebooks, a spare set of keys, even my passport so glad i took them out.

Shitty deal, I feel for you. Having your car broken into is one of the worst things that can happen to you. You should have made a citizens arrest.. Few zipties and a baseball bat/driver! Chances are after smashing in his teeth, face, and skull you would feel better about what he did to your truck.

Thats really screwed up! A guy in my complex had his house broken into 3 times in the past year and had his truck stolen the night before last!

I'm thinkin i should buy some razor wire to put on my doors and windows! lol

My buddy's truck got broken into downtown about a month ago. They broke into the bed, smoked pot in it, rummaged around through his stuff, stole his booster pack but left everything else, like my snowblades, etc.

They also left a garbage bag of dirty clothes, and a bag of pot. Some people are pretty damn stupid.

Why would it be stolen if that's the guy who broke into the truck? Like I am sure he saw the guy who was sleeping in his truck, and can prolly recognize him when he saw his license.

heh similiar thing happened to my brother in law couple weeks ago some bum punched in the back window of his 07 f350 diesle got blood all over the place could see all the gauge marks from where he tried to shove a screw driver into the ignition and booked it leaving behind all the change in the vehicle radar detector and his satilite radio.
