Hey,
A friend and I were talking about olympic hockey and since I was young at the time and didn't live here I wanted to know where the hockey was played.. I now know it was in the saddledome (then olympic dome) but isn't the ice there too small? what did they do? and does someone have an article or info source that can back it up?
TIA

I don't know how trustworthy Wikipedia is, but it says here that all games were played at the Saddledome...

When it opened on October 15, 1983, it was known as the Olympic Saddledome as it would host the indoor ice events for the 1988 Winter Olympics. This was the first major arena in North America capable of hosting ice hockey matches on the international standard size ice sheet.

from wikipedia...

Hehe ... sorry vadeit ...

...and for civiclvr, considering the fact that a lot of arenas worldwide have multiple events on the same day (hockey/basketball/concerts/etc), I would think that pushing the boards back a few feet for a couple weeks of hockey is pretty small potatoes.

When you go to the dome you see that the first few rows of seats are metal and can be folded/moved away and the boards pushed back to make room for the olympic size rink.

I can confirm firsthand that the Olympic hockey was played at the Saddledome. I watched the Canada vs USSR game at the 'dome during the '88 Olympics with my dad. We lost.
