Is any one company better than another for electricity?
Direct energy just raised our monthly by $70
Seems a lot!

You missed the Enmax 7c deal. Ended July 1st.

yep, enmax was selling for way cheap. They're likely losing money on that one....AB electricity is averaging around that yearly.

Enmax's five-year rate is now 8¢/kWh.

Any body locking in at those rates? I guess it won't ever be going down...

I locked in for a 5 year at 7c/kwh last month, while they had their cheap deal on. Moved my gas to them as well, and left that floating. I'm pretty certain that power isn't going to get any cheaper with the continuing rise in demand.. even when they do finally get that new reactor online in whitecourt.

How much does Direct Energy charge for transmission, distribution, and admin fees? Im currently locked into Enmax 5yr plan at .07$/kwh but the actual electricity I consume only accounts for 30% of my monthly bill, the remaining 60% are for the fees I listed above. If I don't use any electricity at all, I still pay 23$/month.

Nat. Gas is going nowhere fast right now. Even the CEO of Encana was saying that it will be going down, which it has.

From about 8.00/Gigajoule a month ago to 6.44 now.

$23 a month just to be signed up...what a joke...and so much for the deregulation....
There's a lot of extra charges on the Direct Energy bill as well.
Without actually knowing I'd say they both charge the same for that crap!

Yup, I signed up about 3 weeks ago. My buddies at the AESO said it's a good deal.
