Changing car's factory color

When you re-paint your car to a different color than your factory color, I know you have to report it to the registry, but do u have to report this to the insurance company as well?
If so does your insurance price be affected too?

I think insurance companies only need color for 2 doors...

All my cars have been sedans thus I don't really have experience with coupes and insurance.

you should tell them. if there is an accident and a claims person comes out and sees that the car is not the color i believe that the insurance becomes void. therefore they could deny you coverage.

Yes you do have to tell them , the color change can either make your insurance go up or down
