So yesterday morning I wake up, turn my tv on, go grab a coffee and come back to a pink semi-sphere on the bottom of my screen. Not a problem, its done this before all I have to do is turn it off and turn it back on and its gone. This time I turn it off and the fucking thing wont turn back on...
Best part is I bought it used and cant find the guy I bought it off of. He said he had it for 2 years, Ive had it for 8 months. I dont have a warranty card...
Am I fucked?

I hope you had it cheap because you're either paying for a repair or a new one. That's the risk of buying used electronics.

By the way, most Japanese brand TV are made in Mexico and no better or worse. Only Japanese made TV are high end ones and even they crap out after a while.

Did you try unplugging it from the wall completely? I had a tv that had problems power it on every once in a while, i would just unplug from wall for 15 min and then she was good to go again

That's just delaying the inevitable. The t.v doesn't sound like something he should keep.

IMO, if it is not anything special, cut your losses and get something new.

Eventually crapping out and crapping out in less than 3 years is different.
$400 for a temp TV i guess is not bad but Ive always had Sony and my other TV is a 30" Sony and Ive had it for 5 yrs and not a single problem with it. I even noticed a huge difference in quality, menus, features, and other bullshit.
Its not really anything Im attached to I think Im going to scrap it...unless...next post in marketplace FS: Slightly used Philips 52" TV **CHEAP**

Anyone have any hook ups for 50+ TVs?

I picked up a 52" Sharp Aquos LCD from Costco. It's made in Japan.

They're only warranted for 1 year for a reason.

I guess it really depends on the experience people get from products
they could have gotten unlucky with that tv and spread the word about it sucking

to add to that, I've had very good experience with samsung tv's, I had one for about 17 years and it just crapped out about 2 months ago, it had great picture and everything, almost better than those crap brand tv's you see these days. The only problem with it being so old was that it couldn't display channels 37+ for some reason.

recently I just purchased the LCD 19" samsung (I forgot the model name, but it comes in white and black and has an LED at the bottom, much like the aquos) for about 550 at bestbuy.. AWESOME tv and HD.
