That's the JDM limiter, mine does that too. I'm not sure how to disable it yet..

You need someone to take it out, I hear its pretty pricey to take out the JDM limiter but theres no real point its not like youll be going over 180 all the time

Fields VTEC controller or a VAFC will take the limiter off or chipping the ECU will do it also!!

If you have a warranty though that will void it... right??

your warrenty can only be voided if the dealer proves the aftermarket part caused the problem. PERIOD

Would a Dinan stage II chip get rid of the limiter? If so, there's one for sale.

I am pretty sure the Chip would have to be for a JDM ECU cause there is some minor differences between the two.

I think a VAFC automatically gets rid of your governor. I don't think you have to program it or anything....Maybe I'm wrong.

are you serious? I'm possibly in the market for a chip for my car but i didnt think dinan did them for honda. Do you know what gains might be expected or anything like that. I know chips usually raise the rev limit, do you know if that causes premature wear on any part of the car? thank

Be careful when raising the redline... unless you plan to do serious engine mods... the reason the redline id there (if I remember correctly) is cuz that is the most efficient working area of the engine, and above the redline the internals (connecting rods and pistons and such) can't make power revving any higher, so you risk tossing a connecting rod through your block if you over rev too much... if I'm wrong please post and prove me wrong :)

I dont think raising the redline without replacing those parts will yield "much" more power AFAIK.
