Hey guys, would this work on my stock alarm? it only goes off when the doors are opened, doesnt go off when something hits the doors etc.

Hey i'm not sure about this but i think (could be wrong someone correct me) that it would only work if your stock alarm has the ability to add onto it.. most stock alarms don't have that ability.. usually a high end ones only can do that. and can you even reprogram a stock alarm?? someone clear this up but i think i read something like this b4! if i can find out where i'll let ya know!
it is possible on some, you use the shock sensor to trigger the domelight to turn on making the alarm think the door is open, this can be done but it is pretty McGyver. on a 2001 jimmy I wouldn't recomend it, specialy if you still have any warranty left.

Just check with GMC...see if its possible to add direct, if not, 12v idea would work fine...it wouldnt be hard to rig up, even if u still had warranty, piece of cake to rip out if need be.
I'd recommend looking into a full aftermarket alarm system. Better stuff and you'll be happier in the end :)
