I'm looking at getting the base model of the Jepp Patriot. They have 0% financing right now and it's $275 per month with zero down. It seems to be good on gas and it's got the space to throw all my stuff in when i'm on the move.

For the price, I think its good.

Only import you'll get for that price is a bare bones Yaris.

its a great little unit, nice awd system.. same chassis as the caliber but better looking. The compass is also nice but more feminine looking. I have a pic of a lifted orange patriot with mudders and roof rack, see if I can find it.

The body lines resemble the first generation Grand Cherokee. The Libertys are nice, my brother in law has one and has no complaints

It has been getting some pretty good reviews from all over. Cheapest 4x4 on the market right now, and gets some pretty decent gas mileage.

downfalls that I see with it is that it only comes with a 4cyl engine, can't upgrade to a 6cyl, and the CVT transmission. i really don't like Chryslers CVT.

Calgary dealerships have HUGE markups on these tho, so bargain like hell.

Looks pretty good from that pic, the body doesnt seem too overdone.

My neighbour's daughter just got one of these and she showed it to me the other day, and I have to say I was pretty impressed. If your going the brand new route I dont see you getting more for your money. The only question for me would be reliability, but if your the type to be buying brand new, it will probably be under warrentee for most the time you own it anyways.

Jesus, don't lead me into temptation lol.. However I might be selling the TA back to my brother so I might need a winter vehicle seeing the EG will be done very soon ;)

Just don't but the FWD model, I can't even believe Jeep is making FWD vehicles in the Compass and Patriot.

^^ why not? its pretty much a wagon thats been lifted. The majority of these are going to be driven by people who care more about fuel consumption and just want the image of a SUV, rather than actually wanting a fully capable offroad vehicle.

Needing AWD for winters is a big misconception.

^ X2, why take the cheapest SUV on the market and put on rims like that, and horrible looking rims at that?

But I've been interested too, as I can really use a 4X4 winter SUV, however the interior has a fair bit of plastic, enough to make an avid barbie doll collector jealous, but asides from that, looks damn good:thumbsup:

^ On the cheapest SUV on the market? I dont think so.
I test drove one yesterday, and was quite impressed at what you got for the dollar. The shifting was ruler smooth, and the ride was quite reasonable, considering the stiff 4x4 suspension.
It lacked power, but talking with the salesman, he mentioned: up until 90 it was like that, but after 90 it just took off, which made it great for passing... interesting, I never seen that before.

But for the buck, you cant go wrong. Its just a compass with a different body style, but one thats more usable, as it has more space, and fewer blind spots.

I'd take my liberty over the patriot or compass any day. Then Again, I accually off-road my Jeep.

I was told the Patriot serves its purpose well in the city though, and really lite trails. Its more equipped like the commercial. Go camping and canoe-ing and such.

wtf. hows that even financially feasible for them? with the amount of repairs that would be nuts.

That suv looks 1,000,000X better with off road tires then that dub crap IMO. I would get the Patriot way over the liberty, but i would just suck it up and go buy a TJ.:nut: :D

The patriot and liberty are 2 very very different vehicles. The liberty is a true offroad vehicle, true 4x4 system, can tow 5000lbs, v6 engine.

the Patriot is just an awd system, car platform, 4 cyl, cant really tow anything.

most people only keep cars for 3 years, with the new promotion, the ORIGINAL OWNER gets a lifetime warranty. not many people now a days but new and keep it for 20 years.

any word if this is state side only, or north america wide?
