I need a really cheap laptop, something running 9x with a serial port, maybe an old PII. I would like to spend <$50 for it. I remember my brother managed to pick up an old PIII 233 laptop for $20 at some wholesale place a year back, but I don't think they're in business anymore. Are there any places around Calgary to find a cheap laptop like that?

Laptop depot was the cheapest I could think of, but I doubt they sell anything that cheap, or that old.

You could try http://www.topflightassets.com/ . They do our recycling for us but I have no idea what they may currently have or for how much :dunno:

i was looking for a cheap laptop yesterday too, i called laptop depot, computer outlet, walmart, (i know i know) futureshop and bestbuy, and i ended up getting one from futureshop, it was 659.99 and its a pretty nice system 120gb hd, wifi, 1.6ghz, dvd-r dual layer burner with light scribe 1GB ram, thats all i can remember off the top of my head... no complaints so far, although itll take a little getting used to vista
