new sony ericsson release dates?

My phone just crapped out on me and i found a new sony ericsson slidder phone to be released soon from rogers, only problem is they dont give the release dates. Anyone here got the inside dates for the release and maybe a guess on the price??
also do u guys think it'll be cheaper to buy it online?

Just to add to this topic, but does anyone know what models are going to be added to Rogers/Fido? I'm looking for a new phone but want to wait for a newer model than the stuff that is currently available from them. Are they going to get the LG Shine? What other Nokia or Sony Ericcson models are they going to be releasing?

I'd prefer not to have to buy from overseas since it'll be cheaper if I do a hw upgrade.

IMO it's not that much cheaper to do a HW upgrade through Rogers. I prefer to buy my phones elsewhere and not have to lock into another 2/3 year contract

I am due for my upgrade and waiting for this phone, the current rogers phones are older than jesus.. god the phones here suck.

this month rogers is supposed to get the nokia n75, motorola w370, samsung a516, and the lg tu500.

True, but I've been with Rogers so long now that whether I'm month to month or on a contract doesn't make much different. I mean the only other GSM alternative is Fido which is Rogers anyways. Up until recently, phones overseas generally cost more because the dollar wasn't as strong. Also, buying overseas basically means you're willing to risk having no warranty unless you can get it back there for repair.

I'm in the exact situation... about to sign a new long term contract with Rogers for the same reason. Whether I do month to month, or sign a contract, I'll be with them for years as the alternatives are brutal.

the w580i seems like a very good mp3 phone, looks really stylish and its a slider. this should be the one to get replacing the w810i if you have one.

yea the w580 is a pretty slick phone
actually considered waiting for it before i picked up my lg shine. but then i heard that rogers was going to pick it up so didnt want to have the same phone as a lot of people

and to the person asking about the lg shine coming to rogers. i doubt it unless they add 850 band to it ;)

I really dislike the Krzr.. its ugly the screen is small, its old.. lol

I've been stuck with Telus for too long and know nothing about GSM phones besides the selection is much better. I've never owned a Moto so I was not sure what to expect. The reason I thought it would be decent was up until recently it was the most expensive phone in the Rogers lineup.

The 580i looks better and better the more reviews I read on it, the only question I would have would be the durability of a slider phone. I keep it in my pocket and dont like phone cases so up until now I've always stuck with flips.

i personally like the looks of the se w580i better
and i like the way the interface is set up for sony ericssons
i have a slider right now and havent found it any different from when i was using a razr in terms of durability and keeping it in your pocket and such ;)

thanks for the help guys. as many of you pointed out im looking for the new sony w580. i noticed it to be on the rogers web page but its not avilable for purchase yet (retarded). if you try to purchase it from the rogers website it tells you the phone is unavaliable for order, if you phone rogers they tell you its not in there system yet and if you check the rogers store they tell you they've never heard of it.......

i checked ebay and this phone is like 350$, i plan on signing a 2 year contract so its only 200$ for me. that sounds like a good to me.

anyway i got my k800i for singapore dollars ($440) but its a 1month old used phone with unfilled warranty

k810i is similar to k800i/k790i, with a few add-ons and differences. outlook is a bit different and is definately slimmer

the buttons will lit up when u use the cameras and it is more camera friendly

comes with stabiliser and photofix.
