Like the subject says, which system is the best paging remote starter/alarm system?

I know about the CompuStar. And I've heard about Ultrastart? If people can give me details like range and reliability with these systems and others, I'd appreciate it.

How useful is the paging unit as well? In terms of user interface, usability, etc?

I've done alot of different paging systems, and compustar is definatly the best.

I use the Compustar...while I wish the remote had vibrate capability I'm very happy with it.

I have a friend who has the Viper 790XV in his truck and he likes it alot too.

I always hear of Compustar being the best in the 2-way LCD paging alarm/remote start combo.

Buy better batteries. I have compustar, older model but its great... hood pin, 2 shock sensor, 2 sirens, 2way pager alarm, car starter ... features to leave turbo fan running if you have one hooked up ..

and yeah, my battery used to last a month at a time, now im going on 3months and its like half full.. Energizer max!!

Use Energizer e2 Lithium Ion batteries if you don't feel like changing them every month.

the reason you battery drains so much is becuz you have the vibrate function. most of us who do have the compustars have the blue remotes that dont have vibrate.. thats why our batteries last so long. you can maybe just buy some rechargable batteries.. save you some dough in the long run

i don't use vibrate function. i only got the back light. and beep sound on. that's it........of course with the signal receive on all the time...............i'm still wonder that how much it drain out battery so fast..........

hmm yea man.. maybe your remote is faulty.. isnt the signal receive on all the time on all the remotes? and everyone else uses backlight and beep sound.. all ours last at least 6 months.. what kind of batteries do u use?

i've ask my installation guy he said it's normal. i'm using energizer battery. still need to repalce it every single month. i'll ask Vision or A&B when i got a chance since it's still under warranty. thank you

well, what i'm concerning about is not the battery. it's about is something wrong with my remote or it's normal.

I don't see anything being wrong with your remote causing it to drain faster. The only thing I can think of could be that your remote needs to "try harder" to get it's signal connection to the car. Maybe where you live there's more RF interference? Something like that? :dunno:

actually my remote dies out every month or month and a half, its a pain in the ass but whatever..... as long as it works (with a new battery) then I'm happy.
