Yeh, this thread has existed before, but I'm starting it up again since there seems to be lots of new classes this year..

I'm looking for an easy 200 level option.. Just some joke class. I'm in my last year and don't feel like stressing myself over it. Has to be a humanity or social science.

Right now I'm registered in POLI205 which sounds interesting but apparently requires a good amount of work.

like ive said in every other thread that has started like this.
take grst211.

check the course outline and make sure EVERYTHING is online (including the final, cause sometimes they screwed people over with that and made them come in and write the exam)

200 level classes are often "survey classes" and end up being tougher than more senior level classes b/c of the vast info. they cover--especially if they are in a topic are that is new to you.

Easier for me in university was to take a senior level class I had the pre-reqs for and was interested in -- thats my 0.25 :dunno:

agreed, though a lot of programs (like mine) don't give you that option, you have to take x number of each level of option

Should have mentioned, I've taken GRST211 (pm me if you want stuff from this class), and am a geology major so GLGY209 is out.

Done GEOG205, ENGL393. Just finished econ201 and 203. I'm in my last/4th year of school, and need just a joke of a class to fill this ridiculous schedule.

TRAN301 is great, it's pretty interesting too.

I'm taking CNST361 right now and it's not bad either.

GLGY 301 is also easy, pretty much a review of GLGY 209.

depends on the prof... i know the ones this upcoming year have a final as well. I found ANTH 201 was pretty easy but it involved a bit of memorization.

Guys how are the geography introduction 200 courses? are they GPA boosters?

Can you guys also name some 300 level as well?

ARK325 was ok...i guess...i ended up with a B+ in that course. it'll depend on who you get for a prof. i had cunningham, and it wasn't a bird course by any means!

RedBull
09-01-2007, 10:04 AM
I got Cunningham and ouch. His gay group assignments and monotone lectures (not to mention all his oiler references) were a little too much for me. I wouldn't recommend ARKY 325 at all...

Geog 213 is super duper easy, as is GRST 211. Don't take GRST 211 during Fall/Winter, because you have to write the exams in the TRI Labs (basement of Social Sci) with supervision. If you take it in Spring/Summer, however, you can do everything at home and use the 'honour system'.

I would also recommend, CNST 331, a block week class on Canadian film.

Oh Ok great! Maybe things have changed! I know one of my friends gave me Sh*t because I told her how easy the class was in the summer, but when she took in fall she had to do it in the labs. That's awesome then, they probs changed it back due to lack of enrollment in F/W

Eekkk.. I'd beware of GLGY 307 with collum. I heard that this class was a joke, but it turned out way harder than I thought. 50% midterm, 50% final, all multiple choice BUT... a total of 50 questions on each exam that could be pulled from lecture materials, videos watched in class, and the textbook (with a solid 12 long chapters/ exam). The questions weren't even generic. Not sure how this class is with other profs, but it defs wasn't a cake walk for me!
