View Full Version : Quick question about a BB6

I've bought a 97 Prelude about a month ago or so, but the previous owner forgot to give me the owner's manual and he's on vacation now.
I need to do an oil change, what is the oil capacity for an oil change (with the oil filter)? I know there are quite a few BB6 owners on here.
If anyone has a pdf manual (or a link to one) for the car or anything like that, it would be appreciated too.
Thanks.

go to ct and look up the filter to use (there is a book right there near the filters)
also grab a 4.4L bottle of your favorite oil
pour about 3/4 of it into your engine then crank up the engine for a couple seconds and then check the oil level and fill up the rest

The 4.4L is perfect. I used to use 5L before the 4.4L bottles came out.

Is it true that you should avoid Fram oil filters? (they make the Quaker State ones too). My next oil change i'm using a OEM one from the dealer or K&N.
