I'm looking at getting into an Eagle Talon for the next car. I've always really liked them but don't know much about them. I've been looking at a few TSI AWD's, but that's not necessary, just a normal FWD 4cyl would be fine. I just really want a 5 speed :D I know they had an issue with crankwalk, but it's sort of a gamble isn't it?!

What should I look for with these cars when/if I go to view one? Mileage on turbo engines? Drivetrain issues?

Please help inform the uninformed!

Thanks in advance!

There's nothing special about DSMs, just get it inspected by a trustworthy mechanic like you should when buying any other car. Crank walk is only an issue on 93 and up cars and even then it's not really something I would worry about.

yeah i own a 92 laser (also dsm) and it has no crank walk at all. The mileage on mine is around 235K and it runs perfectly :P

I agree.
I still own a 93 Talon ESI it has 278k and runs perfectly. To give you a comparison I have a 96 civic with 224k that runs like shit
