I have a 91 cb7 with h22 turbo and im 99% sure that i have an exhaust leak where the exhaust connects together with the flange that have the spring bolts...i can hear it almost ratteling or something when i give it gas and recently the check engine light came on and now when i give it gas it bogs and has a pretty crappy acceleration compared to what it used to have...could that just be the exhaust leak or could it be something else? (exhaust has no cat or resinator)

turbo'd h22 eh?

doubt the prob is the exhaust leak,.. better find out what made the CEL come on,.. go someplace and have the codes read.

they all do that but i bet in comes back 10-15 minutes later

find your ecu and count the number of times it blinks this will tell you what code it is.

then search on honda tech to find the code and go from there.

if you dont know what to do after you get the code report back here we will help you.

Problem solved! Stop turning your car on, and the issue won't return!

That rattle could also be the turbo going south, which would explain your shitty acceleration and the code would be it going over rich with no boost to make the mixture proper?

just an idea, check the shaft play on your turbo.

k so i found out that a code 43 is a malfunctioning or defective fuel supply system...would that be the fuel pump? or what else would it be?

That would be your fuel pump bro.

Did you get a new one or stocker?

If its stock it could also mean that it isnt flowing enough fuel to your injectors.

Get a walbro 255lph, pretty cheap, will supply more than enuff fuel for your needs.

but the walbro 225 fuel pump that i have is basically brand new...i cant see it malfunctioning already?

check the wiring to the pump

what fuel filter do you have because with the old mans truck we
bought an aftermarket one the was not able to flow enough
for fuel injection

check if yours is clogged anyhow

check your fuel pressure

what sized injectors do you have?

check the wiring to the injectors (never know maybe a clip came lose and your running on three injectors?)

if all else fails get some seafoam clean out the fuel system

if that doesnt work come back

i believe the pump runs off a 12volt get a voltmeter and check
the voltages just before the pump

is there a fuel pump relay? that could be bad?

alright ill check all of that...is my car safe to drive it for the time being until i find out whats wrong with it? or should i avoid driving it?

I'd be a little weary,.. especially being boosted.

a short while ago my fuel pump went on the fritz (wouldn't boost passed 8-9 when i should've been doing 14,.. hard starting and light bogging under load),.. i replaced but not without damage being done (18-19 AFR),.. just blew out one of my rings,.. or maybe a hole in a piston . Blew just 2 days ago too :(

Now I have to replace a piston and rings,.. be careful with your fueling on a boosted application and dont end up like me :(

Playing with boost is expensive, be extra careful!

oh shit man sorry to hear that...
but yeah ill definately avoid driving it until i get it fixed..
if i need to drive it itll only be to work at back which isnt far
and i just wont hit boost...ill drive super careful.
